Hardest woods for long lasting floors

Wood hardness is a result of it's density. For example, ipé wood (or Brazilian walnut tree) introduces a hardness index three times higher then the red oak, one of our most reputable and durable woods. In fact, ipé wood is so hard that it is even fire resistant.

Wood floor ranking
Quality standards

The industry sorts woods into different grades depending on their appearance and grain regularity. Our traditional woods like oak or maple are available in three grades: best, pacific and bistro. Mahoganies from Brazil are very tall trees and only have a few low lying branches. Two grades are sufficient for their ranking: select and rustic.
